About the Marina

Sutton Harbour consists of three marinas, all under one management: The West Pier, Guys Quay and Sutton Harbour, providing a combined total of 467 sheltered berths set in the heart of Plymouth's historic Barbican Centre. The Barbican Centre is famed for its range of restaurants, bars, shops and its laid back waterside lifestyle. Dotted around the perimeter of the harbour is a comprehensive range of facilities and marine support services for repairs and general maintenance. To the east of the lock entrance is a fish market and the National Maritime Aquarium.

A few minutes walk to the west is Plymouth Hoe and the city centre itself where you’ll find modern department stores, supermarkets, restaurants, bistros plus a wide variety of speciality shops on the bustling waterfront.

Marina Approaches

The lock entrance to the marina is to the north of the QAB marina. The lock entrance is emphasised by red and green chevrons, so ignore the emergency gate immediately to the right of the lock entrance. The lock gates and the swing bridge is controlled by IPST signals and free flow is usually in force when the height of tide is above 3.7m or approx. ±3hrs HW.
