About the Marina

The Southdown marina is a small and friendly family run business situated on the Cornish side of the River Tamar. Two brothers, Shaun and Trever Huggins created the Huggins Marina Group which owns the Carbeile Wharf and the Torpoint Yacht Harbour. Since the aquisition of this marina the brothers are throwing a considerable amount investment into this marina, notably improved toilets, showers and laundry facilities, a 40 ton boat lift and travel hoist, additional pontoon berthing, new marine enginerring and boat cleaning services and large storage containers for rent.

There are also a further 100+ deepwater trot and swinging moorings at Mount Edgecumbe (Oil Steps) and should any visitors be berthed here they're entited to the free complimenty water taxi service (1st Apr to mid Oct, 9am to 9pm) to the shore or to their sister marina at Torpoint with easy access to the Torpoint Town Centre and the Plymouth Town Centre.
