About the Marina

If you wanting to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre marinas and yet still be within arms reach of Plymouth, then the Plymouth Yacht Haven offers a perfect compromise. Located in Clovelly Bay, at the mouth of the Cattlewater, the marina offers good protection from the prevailing winds. Access to the famous coastal footpaths of the southwest coast are at the marina’s door step, or alliteratively if want to see the historic sights of Plymouth then there’s a regular water taxi service into town.

The marina is tucked away in the lee of the historic Mount Batten peninsula, which until recently was in the hands of the RAF and famed mainly as a WW2 flying boat base. The 450 berth marina can accommodate vessels up to 45m in length and 7m draught and in 2008 it opened a brand new bar and restaurant which provides fine dining amongst some spectacular views. There is a well stocked chandlery on site and a small convenience store serving basic groceries. Hooe mini-market is a 10 minute walk, and Broadway Shopping Centre is a 10 minute bus ride. Free Wi-Fi is available using your wireless laptop or iPhone throughout the marina, 24 hours a day - collect your unique access code from reception.

Marina Approaches

Those making for the Plymouth Yacht Haven Marina generally use the Eastern Channel of Plymouth Sound. Its well marked and for guidance yachts either use the leading lights brg 349° or head for the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club situated on Plymouth Hoe. The South Mallard SCM, Q(6)+LFl.10s, lies on the path of the transit, and there is enough water to pass between it and the Mount Batten breakwater, 2FG(vert).

Follow the Cattlewater channel, where you will see Plymouth Yacht Haven on your starboard side.

Contact 'Plymouth Yacht Haven on VHF Ch.80, or phone on 01752 404231 for a berth. The entrance to the marina is located at the north-eastern most corner.
