About the Marina

The marina is located in the NW corner of Chichester Harbour at the very top of what’s called the Emsworth Channel. Its a quiet and secluded little refuge that was once a log pond until it was developed into a marina in 1964. It has 200 pontoons berths - most of them taken up by motorboats - however visitors of all persuasion are welcome. Emsworth is quite a popular tourist haunt during the summer where visitors come to enjoy the millpond, the shops, and the pubs and restaurants. Located in the centre of the marina is 'Home Marine' famed to its superb knowledge and experience in servicing outboard motors.

Marina Approaches

At the Emsworth SCM you head NNE up the ever-narrowing channel to the marina. Navigating this channel should not be attempted outside ±1.5HW to be sure of enough water. The channel is lined with pile moorings on either side and the abundance of boats can make this passage a tad awkward at night. At the marina entrance there’s a tidal sill which maintains a depth of 1.5m in the basin, therefore don’t expect to get through anytime other than ±1hr HW to be safe.
