About the Marina

The Cobb’s Quay is a self-contained yachting centre tucked away on the Hamworthy side of Holes Bay. Most visitors come here to take advantage of the support services and facilities within the marina campus, including; fuel, repairs, engineering and rigging etc, thus making Cobb's Quay a popular choice for laying up for the winter. Overlooking the marina is the Cobb’s Quay YC which welcomes overnight visitors to the Club. The High Street and the shops of Hamworthy is a short walk away from the marina with regular buses to Poole.

Marina Approaches

The Cobb’s Quay marina is in Holes Bay which can only accessed via the Poole Lift Bridge (VHF Ch 14, tel 01202 674115), At MHWS the air draft is 2.19m at its lowest point and 2.89m at its highest point, otherwise the opening times are:

Three port hand buoys (Fl.R.4s) guide you to the entrance of Cobb’s Quay and yachts drawing +1m can only access the marina 4 hours either side of HW. Call the marina office on VHF Ch 80, or tel 07740 806036 for berthing instructions. Despite many pilot books showing that the marina dries, this is in fact not the case and the marina is dredged to between 1.5m and 2m every year.
