About the Marina

The majestic water front of Liverpool and its associated docks was once a symbol of the British Empire and Birtain’s status as one of the great trading nations of the world. The ships may have all gone, but the grand symbolic structures like the Liver Building and the Port of Liverpool Building remain and the Liverpol Marina is situated in the heart of this great maritime herritage. Accesed through the computerised lock of the Brunswick Dock, the marina has 350 fully serveced pontoon berths and can accomodate vessels up to 60ft LOA. Its a cosmopplitan marina surrounded by the sights and sounds of the city and the marina has a friendly club house and a harbour side bar and restaurent on site. In the city centre there is of course a huge range of shops and restaurents as well as an excellent martime museum, and just 10 minutes away in the Albert Dock is the famous Tate Liverpool Gallery. One can also experiece the ‘ferry across the Mersey’ which is well worth the trip just for the view of the famous riverside landmarks known as the Three Graces.

Marina Approaches

On entering the River Mersey, contact Mersey Radio on VHF Ch 12 where they will update you on any in bound or outbound commercial shipping movements. The River Mersey is well buoyed and marked and the marina is located about 1Nm south of the Liver Buildings.

During the winter the lcok is manned from 6am to 10pm during weekends only and requires 24 hrs notice outside daylight hours during the week.
