Wisbech Port is Cambridgeshire's link with the sea. The Port of Wisbech has a history as one of the country's foremost ports. Although still busy with commercial shipping, the development of Wisbech as a harbour for small craft has already generated much interest and from May 2000, Wisbech Yacht Harbour really came into its own with the major extension of the pontoon mooring facilities.
Regarded as the capital of the Fens, Wisbech is situated about 25 miles NE of Peterborough and is a market town of significant character and historical importance. Rows of elegant houses line the banks of the River Nene, with North and South Brink still deemed two of the finest Georgian Streets in England.
