About the Marina

The Debbage Yachting Marina lies in the stretch of water called the New Cut in the heart of Ipswich Town. This is a small and friendly family run boatyard/marina and business, and like most small East Coast marinas its very good value for money. The New Cut does dry out in part, so at low tide boats settle down on soft mud and lie alongside side walk-ashore pontoon staging.

Marina Approaches

At the top end of Cliff Reach is where the River Gipping joins the The Orwell. Fork right along the buoyed entrance channel to the lock gates for the Ipswich Haven and Neptune Marinas, and fork left for the Debbage Marina. Submerged flood relief gates lie on the river bed and across the entrance to the New Cut, which is raised to close the Cut when required. Large warning signs and three red (vert) lights warn when the gate is being raised.
