About the Marina

Beyond Burnham and half way up the reaches of the River Crouch is Althorne Creek, the home of Bridgemarsh Marina, or more correctly known as Bridgemarsh Marine. Typical of most East Coast marinas its a mid river haven without any breakwater of harbour wall and is sheltered by its own natural habitat. The marina can feel a tad exposed in the strong westerly, but its one of the few places in the Crouch which offers shelter from the NE. Over 100 boats can be accommodated in the marina, which is just a short walk away from the village of Althorne where there’s a local store for provisions and one or two pubs, plus a main line station to London.

Marina Approaches

A large red beacon towards the end of Cliff Reach marks the most easterly end of Bridgemarsh Island and the entrance to Althorne Creek. A line of red can buoys lead to the marina hidden behind Bridgemarsh Island. The fairway along the creek continues along the south side of the two main pontoons.
